About the Partnership
In 2006, the Anacostia Watershed Restoration Partnership (AWRP) was created. The Partnership is a collaboration between governments, communities and the private sector on shared restoration efforts to recreate the watershed as an asset. In 1990, the first Anacostia restoration project was completed. By the end of 2018, well over 9,000 projects were completed. The Partnership has contributed greatly to the success of this conservation effort that restores this prized amenity for the Metro-DC community.
